I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I think it is important to recognize that just as in any organization, there are good and bad one's. It is sad to hear that the Witnesses have lost one more good one.

My stepfather died tonight
by Mulan ini have just finished making phone calls informing the family of the death of my stepfather.
i was an adult when he married my mother, but i loved him very much.
he was a wonderful man.. although he was a faithful jw, for his entire life (he was born to it) he was a really good man, and a true christian, i believe.

we see the rules given to the sheep for raising their children and we shake our heads saying, dont they get it?
what is wrong with the org that it cant see how they are treating the youth?

i did not picked up the phone.
then it rang again and refuse to answer it so i let the answering machine handle it.

I truly understand your anger. I told the elders on several occasions that if and when I was ready to talk, I would call them.
They kept coming to my house unannounced. On several occasions, when I hid from them, I caught them peering in my window.
What a violation of privacy!!
Keep your chin up, eventually they leave you alone!

they asked for a book for me to see the questions answered for baptisim but they wouldn't give it to me because they have to decide if i can join???

Welcome back TAT, I am sorry you had to go through that. It is the Organization Book. Ask your Bible study conductor to show it to you. If she is cool, she should. I showed my Bible studies. It isn't any secret.
Don't let them make you feel rejected!! View it as a sign. Maybe you aren't supposed to conform to their way of thinking!

the week from hell...I need input please!

we were very close and worked together volunteering for the aids foundation here in my hometown.

Dear sweet Jon,
Do whatever it is that you need to do to console yourself.
I lost a very dear friend to AIDS and because of circumstances and still being a Witness, I never got to say goodbye to him. That is a huge regret in my life.

Please help me with the forum
by Simon inkeeping a balance in what is allowed and what is not is very difficult and is more difficult if i have to take action against one person when i have let other things go by others.. it would help a lot if we could stop the personal attacks and some of the name calling & insults that are thrown about.
i know personalities do and will clash but please disagree about the subjects being discussed and not get personal!.
if you think someone is deliberately trying to cause arguments please do not respond to them as this is giving in to what they want.
